Today seems like such an odd day. J and I are back into our normal routine and the Hubbs is off at work. So why is it odd? We just returned from a trip to Orlando and celebrated Easter weekend. A whole week spent getting to see the hubby more than a few hours at night!
We went to Orlando because my husband was attending a convince. One of the benefits of being a stay-at-home mom is the ability to travel as a family even on work trips. O-town is only an hour and a half drive from my home town so it was a great opportunity for J to get to see her Mimi. And you can't go to O-town without a trip to Disney! This time my mom got to come along with J and I, and we had a wonderful time.

J watching Lion King

We started off at Epcot where we went on the best ride there.... Norway! My family ancestors are from Norway, so we love to go visit every time we are at Epcot. Then we hitch a ride over to Animal Kingdom were we saw the Nemo and Lion King shows. Jaycelyn love, love, loved the Nemo show. She was laughing and clapping and pointing at everything. When it was over and we got up to leave, she clapped the whole way back to the stroller! She really love it. It was so amazing to see the wonder in her eyes. She really enjoyed the Lion King too, but she was nearing nap time and having a hard time focusing. She did clap the whole way to the stroller again, so she must have like it.

The first day we got to Orlando, we took J to Downtown Disney. She loved running around everywhere. Her favorite thing to do was run around the brick planters. She had to walk on every one we came too. Then she found a small circular one and we were stuck for quite some time, in the rain nonetheless, while she went round and round. We took her to eat a the Rainforest Cafe. She was not very impressed. There are thunderstorms that occur about every half hour, and I thought that they would scare her. But J did not bat an eye.

On the last day we headed back to Downtown Disney, but this time to eat at T-Rex. It is like Rainforest Cafe, but with dinosaurs. And this time J loved it! There is a meteor shower that happens about every half hour and every time she would point at all the dinosaurs moving and stare with wonder. It was so much fun, and a great way to end our trip.

We returned home and had two very relaxing days at home. And to top it all off we had a wonderful day at Shane's parents house yesterday for Easter. J had a very ruff day. She fell several times and hit her head quite a bit. Add in no nap, and ruff may be an understatement! But she absolutely loved the egg hunt. One of her favorite things to do is collect things in a basket or bag, so this was right up her alley. She only had one melt down when she got a stick caught in her skirt and it made her very upset. The best part was when Shane took the stick out. With tears running down her face and still screaming out of frustration, she continued to pick up eggs and put them into her basket. It was quite a sight, but I thought it was hysterical!

I feel so blessed to have had this time to spend as a family. I'm sad that it is over, but I guess it is back to reality.

How was your Easter weekend?
